Animal Shelter & Veterinary Hospital

The absence of an animal shelter has imposed limitations on our activities and we have managed best as we can till now. As the first step towards building an animal shelter, we have bought 1.47 acres of land at Valiarathala, Malayinkeezh Panchayat, 13 kms from the city.

Our dream project now, is to build up a shelter, Animal Birth Control Clinic & Veterinary hospital on the land.

Construction of the hospital & shelter buildings are underway..and we need all the help you can give us to complete this project and to set it working………….

ANIMAL BIRTH CONTROL PROGRAMME

Every year thousands of  dogs are thrown into the streets by owners who do not want them. Thousands are born in the street. And thousands are put to death in the most cruel fashion, by Corporations, municipalities and Panchayats. This senseless killing is no solution……

People for Animals plans to undertake spaying and neutering programmes ( sterilization programmes) for both stray dogs and owned dogs as soon as the shelter becomes operational…….

So that there are no more dogs on the streets to kill…

ANIMAL RIGHTS LAWS & WILDLIFE AWARENESS PROGRAMMES

In our 10 th anniversary year, we plan to intensify our programmes for spreading awareness regarding animal rights laws and  the need for protection of wildlife, natural habitats & environmental health. This will include

1. Training programmes for police personnel reg: enforcement of animal laws
2. Sensitisation programmes for school children.
3. Handling & first aid training for people who are actively working for animals.
